  1. Very true ScottScott, I work at a Volvo Dealership and we have a ’72 P1800 thats on display in front of my desk and I love to tell Irv’s story… Volvo’s will run forever!! Thanks for watching and reading!!!

  2. I’ve always admired the P1800 for its appearance, sneered at its performance and eventually, appreciated it for what it is while forgiving it for what it isn’t. Needed a few miles on me to see it…

    • I definitely understand where you’re coming from, I was never all that enthusiastic about the P1800 as a kid. When I was young my dad had an MGB and, although the MGB may have had questionable reliability, they were a fun car to ride in as a young boy. When I saw the P1800 for the first time I thought the fins on the back looked kind of silly and always heard that it wasn’t the most sporting car to drive. My opinion of the P1800 didn’t change until I came to work at the Volvo dealership that I work at now. Parked in front of my desk is a green 1972 P1800 that my co-worker has restored after having driven it daily and having briefly raced it. The P1800 is a truly beautiful, and memorable car.
